  • Keith joined our staff as Pastor during the fall of 2012. He loves First Baptist Church! A graduate of Murray State University, he was a member of FBC during his college days and while serving as the Campus Minister at Murray State. 

    After graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Keith spent 28 years serving in the area of Collegiate Ministry at Arkansas State University, Murray State University, and as Director of Collegiate Ministry and Young Adults with the Kentucky Baptist Convention. 

    Keith is married to Carole and they have three children and four grandchildren. Keith enjoys hiking, reading, golf, and SEC football.

  • Boyd Smith first came to First Baptist Church as the Minister to Students & Activities in 1994. After serving in this capacity for nearly 17 years he became the Pastor of Prayer & Care, a new position at First Baptist Church. 

    Boyd spends much of his time at the hospital, nursing homes, retirement centers and the homes of the elderly. He knows what it’s like to be sick and he has experienced the healing touch of God as well. He believes in the power of prayer and keeps a prayer journal of the requests that people give him. He and his wife Wanda have been happily married for over 35 years.

  • Jeremy joined our pastoral team during the summer of 2015. As Associate Pastor of Families, Jeremy oversees our preschool, children, youth, and collegiate ministries in addition to providing organizational support to our Senior Pastor. 

    He has a tremendous heart for family ministry and equipping the family unit to be everything it can be for Christ. He has served at churches in Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. 

    Jeremy is married to his wife Jennifer and they have 3 boys (Jacob, Zach, and Drew). In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family, most all sports and definitely Kentucky Basketball.

  • Jon Kyle joined our staff in September of 2015. He has had a rich history serving the church as God has allowed him to serve in many roles including: Senior Pastor, Youth Pastor and Worship Pastor! As Student Pastor, JK oversees all student ministries from 6th-12th grades. College leaders are also a huge component of the youth ministry at FBC! There are 3 interns, a ministry assistant, 13 LifeGroup Leaders, and 18 mentoring leaders! We're thankful for these college students!

    He received a B.S. degree from MSU in 2007 and is currently working on his MDIV seminary degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. 

    Jon Kyle is married to his beautiful wife and best friend, Jamie, and the Lord has blessed them with four wonderful daughters (Halle, Anna Grace, Nora, and Layla). It is his goal at FBC to teach students on how to reach and teach their peers for Christ!

  • Rachel has been a part of a FBC since July of 2018.  She is passionate about children's ministry and her many years of experience make her an expert and friend to all she meets. After attending WKU, she felt a calling into the ministry and has continued her journey ministering to children and families ever since.

    She is the wife of Roger, whom she met on summer missions as a college student. She is also mother to Wyatt and Ezra.  Together, they love traveling, visiting children's museums, and learning about space and robots!

  • Mike joined our FBC staff in June of 2016. He became interested in music while talking piano, voice, and cello lessons each week as his father studied music at Southern Seminary.

    Mike has a Music Education degree from Austin Peay, a Church Music degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College, and a Church Music Master's from Southern Seminary. Later in life he felt a calling to public education and returned to school for a degree in Curriculum and Instruction there. He is also certified as a principal in the state of Tennessee.


    He has held church positions in Hopkinsville from 1981 to 1986, in Cadiz from 1986-2015, and have been in Murray since June of 2016.


    His hobby is his business, and he enjoys buying and selling various trinkets...pocket knives, watches of all kinds, and belt buckles.  He lives on Lake Barkley, near Canton with his two companions:  Bullet and Phyllis.

  • Lori joined our office staff in September of 2014. As Financial Secretary, she is responsible for maintaining all financial records of the church and ensuring that all regulatory financial requirements are performed properly. She is a stickler for details! She has served previously at churches in Mayfield, KY and Brentwood, TN. Lori is married to Dirk and they have three children, Bryan (who is married to Rachel), Shelby, and Jonah. They also have one adorable grandchild, Cason. Lori loves music, especially in the church setting, and following Kentucky basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

  • Carly joined our office team in August of 2019. She is a senior at Murray State double majoring in journalism and organizational communication. She has attended First Baptist for many years and previously served as a children's ministry intern. She is originally from Williamstown, Kentucky, but western Kentucky has grown on her throughout her time at Murray State and as a summer staffer at Jonathan Creek. When she's not at FBC, you can find her leading a community group at the BCM, writing her senior thesis, in the library, or going kayaking with friends on Kentucky Lake. She knows the Lord has a lot in store for FBC and is glad to be part of the journey!

  • Debbie came to FBC as Pastor’s Secretary in August of 1972. She currently serves in the area of pastoral care ministry and provides support for church ministries. Debbie and her husband, Bill, have three grown children and five grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with grandchildren and watching them play soccer and baseball. She also enjoys singing in the Sanctuary Choir.

  • Diane joined the FBC staff in August of 1997. She currently serves as the printing secretary. She and her husband, Tom, have three grown children and five grandchildren. When not in the church office, she enjoys reading, bicycling, cooking and spending time with family.

  • Belinda joined the FBC staff in March of 2002 in a custodial position. In September of 2014 she assumed a new position as Facility Manager. Belinda loves FBC and works to maintain the buildings and grounds. Belinda has two grown children, Josh and Kelsey, and three grandchildren.

  • Lauren Dunlap joined the Church as the Mother’s Day Out Director in 2017.  She has 11 years of experience in the field of mental health counseling as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She loves working with children and has specialized in Birth to 5 years of age at her previous employer.  Lauren enjoys watching children grow and learn.  She has seen the positive influence Mother’s Day Out has had on her own children.  She welcomes open two-way communication with parents to jointly celebrate parenting joys and tackle challenging struggles.  She is married to Zach and they have two daughters, Emilia and Ruby.  She also has two dogs, Franklin and Dean.  In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, exercising, and spending time with her family and friends. 

  • Mark joined the FBC Staff in September of 2018.  He has had a varied career over the last 4 decades including: theater work at the Lexington Opera House and Rupp Arena, television studio camera operator (WLEX TV18), over 10 years of experience in insurance sales, and 14 years with Lexmark International, Inc., which afforded him many international business trips.  After his career at Lexmark ended, he was blessed with a few years as a stay-at-home dad.  In 2014, he and his family moved to the Murray area for his wife Lisa’s business and they joined the church shortly thereafter.  He provides his wife’s business with accounting, payroll, and minimal tax duties.  Lisa is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.  He and Lisa have one child, John. 

  • Erin joined our team as College Ministry Assistant in 2016 and helps oversee the events and program of our NET college ministry.  She has a tremendous heart for college students and a desire to see them grow in their walk with Christ.

    Erin is the wife of Jonathan (Murray State BCM Director) and mother to Jackson, Frazier, Chaney Beth, and Nathan. Together, they like to spend time as a family, travel, work around the house, and go on Clark Family Adventures. 

  • Cody first joined the FBC team as a children's ministry intern in the fall of 2017. In fall of 2018, he transitioned to a student ministry internship and thrived at engaging our middle schoolers with the gospel. After a year of interning with the student ministry, he officially came onto our FBC staff as the Middle School Associate. Cody has a B.S. in Organizational Communication and has had a previous role as a Campus Ministry Associate at the Baptist Campus Ministry and leads worship regularly. Cody is fun to be around and enjoys hanging out with friends. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing basketball, long-boarding, and water-skiing.

  • Rhonda Roberts joined our staff in August of 2019. She has been a member of FBC since 1984.  She enjoys being mom to Kelsey and Christopher, mother-in-law to Tyler, and especially Grammie to Benjamin (age 1) and Henry (who arrives around Thanksgiving).  She loves studying the Word with her “sister-friends” that weekly meet in her home and also singing praises to the Lord with the FBC Praise Team.  She retired from teaching in 2017, but since then has continued to teach on a part-time basis. She rejoices that this season of life has blessed her with opportunities to serve Him and she states that this position as Wednesday night cook is her next exciting ministry adventure!  Rhonda is looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday nights.

  • Megan joined the FBC team in August of 2019 as the youth ministry assistant. In the summers of 2018 and 2019, Megan served on FBC's Summer Impact Team, specifically interning with youth ministry. She enjoyed the gospel conversations and relationships that were built with the high school girls and has now transitioned into a ministry assistant position. Megan graduated from Murray State in the spring of 2017 with her B.S. in animal science. She serves on staff at the Murray State BCM as a campus minister associate, and has served at the BCM for the past 3 years. In her free time, Megan loves to celebrate Christmas year-round, cross stitch, bake gluten free brownies, and spend time with her family in Ashland, Kentucky.
