Welcome to First Baptist Church. We realize that visiting a new church can be a little overwhelming, so we want to answer a few questions to help make your visit a great experience. Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to church for the very first time. Or, maybe you're an active church member who just moved to town and needs to find a new church home. Whatever your story may be, we want you to know you are welcome at First Baptist Church.
Here are some common questions we hear about what to expect on a Sunday at First Baptist in Murray. If we've missed something, let us know! You're probably not the only one with that question, so asking us will help us help you and future guests.
What is your Sunday schedule?
We have an 8:30 and 11:00 worship service with Sunday School positioned in the middle at 9:45. Both services are unique and you find out more by clicking here.
What do I wear?
You'll see people in everything from jeans to suits on Sundays. Our concern isn't what's on the outside, but what's on the inside. Come as you are. Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn't we?
Where do I park?
We have guest parking across from the worship center on 4th Street. We have reserved these spots just for you, our special guest. In the event that those spaces are full, we also have a large parking lot just south of our worship center on 4th Street.
Is there anything for my children?
Of course! We have Sunday options for newborns through high school seniors, including special times of worship designed just for the younger kids. Read more about these on our What to Expect page or Ministries tab.
How will I find a Bible study?
On Sunday, stop by the Welcome Center in the Main Foyer. A Welcome Team member can show you a listing of Sunday School classes. Believe us — our goal is to get every guest and member into a Sunday School class so we'll go out of our way to help you get connected!
Your building is big. How will I find my way around?
The best way is to stop by the Welcome Center in the Main Foyer. Our volunteer Welcome Team members will love to show you where you're going — and even walk with you to make sure you find your way.
In the church I grew up in, some people had "their" seats. What if I unknowingly sit in somebody's seat?
Don't worry about it. Sit wherever you want. Nobody has a claim on a seat. In fact, we'll even let you save seats for your family and friends!
